VISUAL ARTIST & SCULPTOR
Erica Szalkowski-Swanson

Erica Szalkowski-Swanson is a multi-disciplinary artist who exhibits at anime conventions in Maryland, Virginia, and DC. While she is best known for her polymer clay sculptures, she also creates handpainted glassware, original paintings, and enamel pins. Recently, one of her illustrations appeared in an art book accompanying the comic anthology Why Faith, and her photography has appeared in galleries all around the DMV area, including the Hillyer Artspace in DC. Reflexively entrepreneurial, she also takes on graphic design and commercial artwork gigs, all under the banner of Conspicuous Designs.

CHRISTIAN FANTASY AUTHOR
Dn. Nicholas Kotar

Nicholas Kotar writes epic fantasy inspired by Russian fairy tales. His fascination with fantasy goes way back to the days when his friends and he created an alternate version of Narnia, called Wreathlea, with a Stone Witch instead of a White Witch, and an enchanted princess who had been turned into a Golden Evergreen. Instead of playing with toys, they would go outside and look for cloud formations in the shape of lions — except in their version, he was called Seaze, not Aslan.

Other masterpieces of childhood included “Duels of Space,” which started as a standard riff on Star Wars ripoff, but eventually included ninjas riding the backs of warrior bears.

Come to think of it, not much has changed. He still has warriors riding bears in his books!

TABLETOP GAME DEVELOPER
Golden Dragon Society

Following the success of last year’s Ninja’s of the Jade Forest, the Golden Dragon Society is proud to present its latest game at Doxacon: Tales of the Round Table, a short, collaborative storytelling game that leads players through three acts of an Arthurian action-romance, culminating in an epic showdown among the characters that decides the fate of the realm. Be warned: if you want a happily-ever-after, you’ll have to work for it!

The Golden Dragon Society is run by Zachary and Sophia Porcu.

TABLETOP GAME DEVELOPER
Gryphon Mount Games

Gryphon Mount Games was founded in 2018 by Jason and Maura, a husband-and-wife team with a love for games and art. Over the course of a year, in their free time, they developed their first fantasy-themed card game together called Familiar: Mythic Arena. It’s been a dream of theirs to eventually earn a living using their creative talents, and to use a portion of profits for charitable causes they both believe in.

The mission of Gryphon Mount Games is to bring new and exciting games to the tabletop world and get people together! Games are great ice-breakers, inlets to forming friendships, and things to do in person with others. They are reasons to go, get out of your house, and be with your friends or make new ones! People are what matter most in life. Spend your time with each other!
